Spring Time in Paris....Oh La La

It's that time of year again for the annual Philadelphia Flower Show and really is there any better way to bring in Spring?  I think not.

The 2011 show theme is Springtime in Paris and I am already swooning over what I imagine I will see.  How hopelessly romantic...I am anticipating beautiful displays and I will probably want to move to Paris soon after.  I will report on all my findings on Friday.  This is also an amazing opportunity to get inspired for an upcoming wedding or any other gala you may have.  The flower show will spark your creative juices and it will surely implant a smile on your face and in your heart. The show opened on March 6 and is only running until March 13, 2011.  The tickets are priced as follows:

Adult: $25
Student: $20
Child: $15

Here is what a visitor can expect to see according to the Examiner.com.....
Springtime in Paris has been designed to transport the visitor from the City of Brotherly Love to the City of Lights.

This year’s flower show will feature displays of:
  • An opulent Paris during the time of Victorian glamour,
  • A romantic Paris with tete-a-tete down the Seine,
  • The gourmet Paris with rooftop and edible gardens,
  • The artist’s Paris where beautiful portraits and landscapes are created,
  • The avant-garde underground Paris with its catacombs, and
  • A timeless Paris of courtyards and cafes will all combine to form a Parisian paradise in flowers and plants.
The Paris in the Pennsylvania Civic Center will greet the guests with a bucolic park scene along the Seine River. The aroma of flowering trees, lilacs, roses and borders of lavender will lead the guests through gardens that have been inspired by the Tuileries all the way to the daring Moulin Rouge atmosphere where the cabaret performances will be conducted. Along the way there will be flower sculptures and carousel topiaries.
There will also be the usual items for sale, gardening workshops, cooking demonstrations, and wine tasting.
